Joel Murphy is President of OpenBCI, Inc, an Open Source Hardware companyspecializing is biosensing tools. He's also co-founder of World Famous Electronics,makers of the Pulse Sensor, an open-source optical heart-rate monitor. Joel taughtPhysical Computing at Parsons from 2006 to 2014. His background is in visual arts,and he made Kinetic sculpture for years before getting into electronics design-engineering and firmware programming. Joel was born in Honolulu, HI. He got his BFAfrom Mass Art, and his MFA from UCSD, and he currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
